Three Angels is the painting where the saints and the devils are the same figure. All three wear halos; the two on the right also wear horns. The big one on the right has a keypad-grin spelling 0 1 1 D $ — binary and currency in the throat where the prayer used to live. Beside it, the wall stacks USA / RUSSI / UNA / CHINO / DRONE / HORMUZ / AGREE / FRWWY like a printout of the year's news. The two smaller figures on the left hold single letters at the chest — S and R — survivors and witnesses, named by the alphabet of what is left after the bargain. The whole canvas is annotated in pencil-thin black and red scrawl beneath the major figures; the negotiation in the noise. Painted in Liquitex Professional Heavy Body. The last big piece of the spring.
