Apophis — the asteroid that was supposed to maybe end us. 17 km/s is its actual orbital velocity. The dollar building on the left keeps printing money while the rock approaches. The GOAT in the middle is the scapegoat we pick when the sky finally falls. The orange figure on the right is me, you, anyone — arms up, somewhere between worship and giving up. Painted in a stretch when I was reading too much about near-Earth objects and not sleeping enough.
