Fear No Evil

Psalm 23, painted — FEAR NO EVIL, the prayer you say walking through the valley of death. A horned devil grinning back, and ANGELS, LOVE, and a small yellow heart hidden at the bottom. The prayer for when the thing you fear and the thing you bargain with wear the same face.

Bear Arms by tijo (2026), 150 × 120 cm acrylic and paint pen on linen. Two cartoon bears stand side by side against a deep ultramarine night sky under a scribbled pale full moon. The central purple teddy bear has white-ringed blue saucer eyes, pink inner ears, a pink snout, a red-framed mouth grid of white triangle teeth, a red heart on its chest, a hatched repair patch on one shoulder, and POWER lettered in dark blue down a cobalt strip at its hip. Its arm rises behind a smaller black bear with orange horns, orange flames burning inside white eyes, a single black tear, and fur scratched with a pentagram, stacked triangles, crosses, a star, a broken heart, 666 and other numbers. A large red balloon floats above them on a string. On the left, white missiles with lettered bodies, the tallest reading PATRIOT, climb on yellow flame trails over a small scrawled city and a row of green pines; quadcopter drones hover in the sky, small red balloons drift on white strings, and one white rocket bursts through a red balloon in an orange explosion. A royal-blue panel of scrawled words, INNOCENCE among them, fills the lower right beside the black bear’s leg.

Boy & Dog V2 by tijo (2026), 150 × 120 cm acrylic on canvas. A neo-expressionist painting on a deep umber-brown ground: on the left a white-outlined skeletal boy with a black oval head, single white circle eye containing a black triangle, white block teeth with a pink tongue, a red heart and a pink X on the chest, and white femur bones for a leg. On the right a large black-and-white dog with black floppy ears, mismatched square and circle eyes, a pink nose, a silver keyboard-grid of teeth, white X-crosses stitched down its back, and a pink intestinal coil in the belly. Between them a white horned third-eye totem with an orange ring radiates black lines. US PATENT # 1,974,483 (1934) is lettered in dark blue; white physics equations are chalked across the upper left; an orange sun with glyph inscriptions burns in the upper right; faint yellow script threads through the white outlines. Signed tijo in a scratched heart with © and TM marks.

Three Angels by tijo (2026), 150 × 100 cm acrylic on canvas. A neo-expressionist landscape painting of three figures across a red-purple-blue gradient ground, each with an orange halo above the head. The two right figures also wear horns — angel and devil simultaneously. Far left: a black skull-head with white circle eyes containing black triangles and a wide white mouth of zigzag triangle teeth; a pink S letter stands at the chest with a red horizontal bar above it. Middle: a smaller black-faced figure with halo, horns, white circle eyes, and a simple grin; a pink R letter at the chest. Right: the dominant figure with electric-teal linework — almond eyes with yellow ring pupils, a coiled snake-shape nose with a small yellow key icon, and a white keypad-style mouth spelling 0 1 1 D $ under barbed-wire teal hatching. A blue side-panel lists USA, RUSSI, UNA, CHINO, DRONE, HORMUZ, AGREE, FRWWY stacked vertically in faint grey lettering. The canvas is densely annotated in pencil-thin black and red scrawl beneath the major motifs.
